Happy Chanukah

HAPPY CHANUKAH to you and your families. Chanukah is the celebration commemorating the rededication of the second Temple over 2,000 years ago. As a small piece of that continuum, we are in the process of celebrating and rededicating Temple Beth Sholom after 75 years.

Hinda Piscitelle and her committees’ work and enthusiasm for the celebration have knownm no bounds. Thank you to the whole committee: Marge Drucker, Gail Greenberg, Eta Kaplan, Steve Levine, Michelle Murphy, Debby Pines, Lauren Piscitelle, Shira Rosenblatt, Mindy Sohcot and David Stern.

In honor of the Anniversary, during this year, we shared our stories and remembrances of the good times at TBS and the good people we have shared them with. Many members participated in Friday night services and Shabbat morning services on this past special anniversary weekend. On Friday night, Marty Laskin gave a wonderful, interesting talk on Jews in New Haven/Hamden. A lovely Oneg and Kiddush followed. A welcomed treat since Covid.

Seeing the wonderful program over these last months and weekend, just reinforces how Temple Beth Sholom brings people together to share ourselves and our traditions with our community, making it stronger. I encourage all to get involved with whatever shul activities might pique your interest.   You might be surprised at how fulfilling it might be.

If you didn’t get a chance to participate yet, don’t worry, we have April 9th & 10th scheduled for our 75th Anniversary also and more celebrating. Just call Hinda 203-281-0786.
