First Men’s Club Breakfast of the Year

First Men’s Club Breakfast of the Year Sunday, November 18th at 10:00 am The guest speaker will be Larry Levine, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Quinnipiac University. Dr. Levine is a member of the Association for Psychological Science and the Society for American Baseball Research. In addition to teaching Psychology courses, he also created and taught a History of Baseball course for many years. Baby Story

Baby Story

The baby looked healthy at first. He was born by Caesarean section, and his skin color and breathing looked perfectly healthy. But within two hours of birth, he was having severe seizures. The staff at the Rambaum Medical Center in Haifa, Israel were doing a routine check when they realized that the baby was not well. They transferred him to the neonatal intensive care unit right away.

Social services minister aims for no senior to celebrate alone "Our goal is to ensure that no senior citizen will remain alone during the holidays." By YVETTE J. DEANE August 30, 2018 The Jerusalem Post     Rosh Hashanah. (photo credit: Wikimedia Commons)   Welfare and Social Services Minister Haim Katz invited all senior citizens, including Holocaust survivors, to celebrate the Jewish New Year together in guest accommodations that the ministry will operate in retirement and vacation homes throughout Israel.“Our goal is to ensure that no senior citizen will remain alone during the holidays, and I ask all senior citizens who live alone to register and join the activities,” Katz said. September 2018:

Growing up, most, if not all of us, played “Follow the Leader”. It is my hope that more of us will take turns being leaders and followers. Active synagogue involvement can be achieved through both leading and following, Becoming involved, however, does not necessarily mean involvement on the Board of Directors. In June, I was thrilled to see that many Board positions, including officers, were filled by people who have either not served on the Board previously, or decided to return after a hiatus. (more…)
