I have spent much of the last year encouraging everyone to get involved in at TBS. This year, let’s build off of the successful programming we had last year, including the Shabbat Around the World series, which will be resuming on November 1 with a stop for dinner in Puerto Rico, and will also include destinations like Mexico, South Africa and, since we’re going around the world, the United States. Roast of Rabbi Scolnic On Sunday, November 10, 2019, over 285 congregants, friends and community members enjoyed a well done Roast of Rabbi Scolnic. The evening featured: A Grammy-worthy performance of “Shul-lo” (a parody of “Shallow”), written by Marni & Stuart Katz and performed by Stuart Katz & Stacey Wyner. Roasters Sy Kaplan, Xander, Avi, Rachel Scolnic Dobin, Alan Weiss, Sydney Perry, Geoffrey Hecht, Edward Kaplan, and Andrew Moskowitz. Videos featuring the Scolnic family members. Presentation by Mayor Curt Leng, declaring November 10, 2019 as Rabbi Benjamin E. Scolnic Day! Presentation of a gift by Sisterhood.
