The “Culture of Lying” presented by Mark Gottdiener
The “Culture of Lying” addresses the increased use and common presence of deceit and lies in American daily life and in its institutions? When is lying “OK”. When is it a problem? How did a culture of lying arise? What are possible solutions?
Professor Gottdiener spent 41 years as a university professor and as a full professor, was on faculty at University of California, CUNY and SUNY Buffalo, He specialized in Cultural Studies while publishing 16 books and 100 articles. In 2010 he was given the Lynd Award for Lifetime Distinguished Career Achievement by the American Sociological Association among many other outstanding awards.
