February starts an exciting time for our congregation. Our Nominating Committee will begin the task of soliciting people to be Board members, Trustees and Officers for the coming year. This is a difficult task, as there are many positions to be filled this time aroun
The Nominating Committee does a fantastic job of trying to fit people to specific positions. As you may know, it can be difficult to find willing volunteers to accept nominations to one of the many open positions. People are already pulled in so many directions in life, whether it is work, families, sports, other volunteer organizations or a myriad of other causes, making committing more time to the synagogue a complicated process. Despite all of these other commitments, I ask each of you to find some time in your schedules to give back to our synagogue. Sure, it would be a wonderful thing if you could agree to serve in some capacity of the synagogue’s lay leadership and I would encourage everyone to do so. If you’re not quite there yet, however, even agreeing to join a committee or to help with an activity will benefit us all.
