Giving back to our synagogue is not just a mitzvah, but also an endeavor worthy of our time. In the coming weeks, when the call comes asking you to serve, whether on the Nominating Committee, or as a member of the Board, I hope you will accept. If serving on the Board isn’t for you at this time, there are other ways to be involved.
Neshama is a recently formed group at TBS whose purpose is to plan and hold fun and free events at the synagogue for members of all ages. They recently held the first of the Sip & Schmooze series, a pre-Shabbat event on a Friday evening before services to get together and have some local wines and hors d’oeuvres. There are 2 more scheduled for Februry and March. One of the main goals
of this group is to have events and activities attended by different age groups and to attract people beyond “the usuals”. The Neshama group is looking for ideas from those who don’t normally attend events. If you fall into this group, they want to hear from you…their goal is to plan and hold events that you want to come to.
