Dear members:
It is early May and the sun is shining, the flowers and the trees are blooming (sorry to those with allergies). It is a new beginning. We have out lasted the cold and snow and ice and gloom of the winter.
On Sunday, May 3rd, TBS was a bevy of activity. The clothing drive at the front entrance where bags and bags of clothing were gathered and shipped off to be weighed and monies brought back to the Hebrew school as part of their fund raiser. The parking lot was turned into a carnival event as part of a Bat Mitzvah celebration. The Hebrew school children did their Mitzvah projects.
That day was also Mitzvah day where volunteers got into the kitchen very early and prepared bag lunches for all the volunteers who were going to different venues. The groups were all over town, at the Towers doing a genealogy project, at a horse farm helping with projects such as mending fences and cleaning up the grounds, preparing the soil for our vegetable garden at TBS and helping to stock shelves at a local food bank.
On Lag Ba’Omer it is customary to celebrate with outdoor activities. At TBS we started a few days earlier.
There is a feeling of new and vibrant activity at TBS.
