March 2026 President’s Message

As I always do before each Friday night service, I picked up the list of announcements, and, to my surprise, it was much thicker than usual. I counted the pages and there were 5 full pages of announcements.  Meetings and events all the way through April were listed.  I would like to highlight just a few that will be occurring in March and April. I will confess that I didn’t actually read all 5 pages; I left out some of the recurring announcements because the attendees were getting restless.

However, several key events in March and April truly deserve a spotlight, and I want to share the details with you.

The evening of March 2nd the Hebrew School will be hosting an “Abraca-Purim” dinner, magic show, and Megillah reading for Purim. Please join the Hebrew School families for an evening of magic and grogger waving.

The Annual Community Second Seder will take place on April 2nd if you are looking for a seder to attend. Please see the information in the Bulletin and Temple Tablet and sign up. Thank you to everyone who is organizing this special event.

Our next Simcha Shabbat, honoring those members with birthdays and anniversaries in the month of March and April will take place on April 11th. I hope you’ll join us, as it seems like participation has grown each Simcha Shabbat (and unlike the last two Simcha Shabbats, hopefully it will not snow!).

The Annual Sisterhood Shabbat will be held on April 25th. Every year, Shira Rosenblatt puts in an amazing amount of effort to help the ladies of the temple learn new parts of the service as they lead the entire Shabbat morning service. I know I am looking forward to my wife, Jessica, reading from the Torah again this year.

I hope to see you at many of these events.
