Bike Drive on June 14, 2015

We are partnering with “Bikes Not Bombs” that donates used bikes to Nicaragua and Guatemala. Bring those un-used bikes that are taking up space in your garage to the designated spot and they will be collected and donated to those in need. April 2015 - Kadima Feeds the Hungry on Passover - DONE!

The Kadima chapter of the Temple Beth Sholom Hebrew School in Hamden conducted a Kosher for Passover food drive for families in need in the New Haven area. Kadima is an international youth group for Jewish pre-teens. On Sunday, March 22, the kids brought 122 lbs of food – enough for 93 meals – to the Jewish Family Service of New Haven Food Pantry, where they weighed the food, stocked the shelves and learned all about how the pantry works. Surprised – and moved – to find out about the many families in need, the pre-teens then took the initiative on the spot to empty their pockets and make a monetary donation. The pantry serves about 130 Jewish families monthly, and rarely receives Kosher for Passover food until after the holiday has passed, at which time the grocery stores donate their leftover holiday food items.

March 2015 - Kadima Kosher for Passover Food Drive

We will be collecting non-perishable Kosher for Passover food until March 22.

On the afternoon of Sunday March 22, our Kadima group will go to the New Haven Jewish Family Service (JFS) Pantry to donate the food. The kids will weigh the food and stock the shelves to help the 120 Jewish families who use the pantry regularly have the food they need to observe Passover.

Please help make this project a success by donating food! A box will be available in the back hall or you can give your donations directly to Jen Weissman or Stacy Swartz. Contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with questions.
